Company Profile

2001 – Our Journey: A Legacy of IT Excellence Begin

Our journey began in 2001 when we assisted our very first client—an accounting firm that remains with us to this day. From the outset, we handled all their IT needs, gaining hands-on experience with Pastel Accounting, Pastel Payroll, PC hardware, DOS, Windows 3.11, Windows 95, Windows NT, Windows 98, Windows XP, various office suites, printers, Internet services, software development, general IT queries, dial-up Internet, and maintenance. In June 2001, SPT Computers CC was officially registered. Our first software program was developed and successfully implemented, providing the mining industry with comprehensive downtime reporting. That same year, we sold our first PC with a printer, marking the beginning of our journey as a full-service IT provider.

2002 – Expanding Our Client Base

Through word of mouth, our client base grew. We installed our first indoor cable network, gaining valuable experience in structured network cabling. Providing on-site client assistance enabled us to diagnose IT equipment in real-world operating environments, further enhancing our expertise.

2003 – Innovation in Access Control

SPT Computers developed and implemented access control software to monitor vehicle entry and exit at security villages. This marked our first experience with access control systems.

2004 – Advancements in Security and POS Systems

We developed SPT Wages, a payroll solution with an advanced coinage calculation feature. Partnering with local security firms, we implemented PC-based CCTV systems, expanding our expertise into video surveillance. Additionally, we consulted on and implemented Back Office software on UX43 tills, gaining our first experience in POS systems. We also assisted with ADSL installations and internal network setups.

2005 – Web Development & Windows Server Expertise

As our knowledge of IT systems expanded, we developed our first static website. This year also marked our first experience working with Windows Server 2000 and 2003.

2006 – Introducing VPN & Advanced IT Solutions

We developed SPT Recipes, allowing businesses to calculate sales pricing based on manufacturing costs. We also set up our first VPN system, enabling a client to securely access their entire IT infrastructure while traveling overseas. Additionally, we gained experience with Windows Vista and site-to-site VPN implementation and maintenance.

2007 – Wireless Networking Innovations

We installed our first indoor wireless network and a long-range outdoor wireless link, covering an impressive 1.3 km. This allowed a hospitality client to expand their IT system and check bookings remotely from the entrance gate.

2008 – Linux Servers & Web Solutions

We implemented our first Linux server and a comprehensive surge protection system. Additionally, we developed our first dynamic website.

2009 – Expanding IT Services

We introduced Web Hosting and ISP services, implemented our first Windows Server 2008, and gained experience with Windows 7.

2010 – Strengthening IT Infrastructure

We developed reconciliation software, set up an outdoor wireless infrastructure connecting offices and homes, and implemented our first Linux-based proxy server. A full-scale CCTV installation and automated on-site backup systems were rolled out at multiple client locations.

2011 – Off-Site Backup & IT Maintenance

We introduced off-site backup solutions and IT maintenance services to enhance data security and disaster recovery strategies for our clients.

2012 – Internal System Improvements

A focus on refining internal systems improved our service efficiency. We gained experience with Windows 8 and completed our first Apple OS X installation from scratch.

2013 – Technological Advancements & Eco-Friendly Initiatives

We installed our first IP camera system. Our technicians were equipped with iPads, reducing paperwork and transitioning towards a paperless environment. We also initiated computer equipment recycling and gained experience with Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012. Our first LTE Internet connection was implemented.

2014 – Retail Expansion

We opened our first retail store in the Pick ‘n Pay building in Bronkhorstspruit, offering high-quality products and expert IT support.

2015 – Windows 10 Implementation

We gained our first experience with Windows 10, preparing clients for the transition to the new operating system.

2016 – Administration Software Development

We began developing customer-specific software solutions to streamline administrative processes. Notable projects included reconciliation, access control/payroll/bank integration, and leave management. We also partnered with a national WISP provider, planning, installing, and supporting clients on the WISP network while maintaining High Sites.

2017 – Home Automation

We started supporting clients with home automation systems, enabling them to control lights, play music, and access CCTV systems remotely. We also migrated servers to Windows Server 2016.

2018 – Cloud Integration & Office 365

We implemented Office 365, expanding into cloud-based solutions for secure and scalable business tools. We also began migrating clients to fibre Internet.

2019 – Remote Work Solutions

During COVID, we assisted numerous clients with secure VPN connections to enable seamless remote work.

2020 – Establishing Our Programming Department

We launched a dedicated programming department, allowing us to offer customized software and automation solutions. We also gained our first experience with Windows Server 2019.

2021 – The Windows 11 Era

With the launch of Windows 11, we ensured seamless upgrades and compatibility for our clients. We also developed our own Security Awareness course, training businesses on best practices to mitigate IT security vulnerabilities.

2022 – Cashup Reconciliation System

We developed and implemented a Cashup Reconciliation System for one of South Africa’s leading retail chains, enhancing financial management and reconciliation processes.

2023 – Stock Projection System Development

To help businesses optimize inventory management, we introduced a Stock Projection System, providing clients with accurate stock levels to enhance cash flow and meet customer demand. We also gained experience with Windows Server 2022.

2024 – Expanding Industry Reach

We implemented our first indoor wireless mesh system and expanded our software solutions into the fuel station and fast food industries.
